Hey gals!
Long time no blog, aye? :) I hope you’ve all been doing
fabulously! I certainly am feeling happy – I FINALLY have internet again after three weeks! And I went on an awesome shopping spree on the 4th of September. It was half-impulse and half-planned. I’ve been meaning to buy a pair of decent
black flats and a pair of slippers for ages and ages, so when I was at
Westfield Henderson mall, I couldn’t resist.
If you want to skip ahead to pictures of my haul, they’re
further down the page. Most items are from Number 1 Shoe and Valley Girl. One
item is from Kmart. And a few are gifts from my wonderful Mommy who got them in
Singapore/Philippines!
Anyway I was at the mall, and I purposefully headed to
Number 1 Shoe because they have decent prices and a few really nice shoes. I
fully intended to only get a pair of flats and slippers. BUT THEN. Remember the
Jeffie boot (link) from my Shoes article
(link)? IT WAS ON SALE. From $70, it was down to $30. I had to buy it. I mean I know I didn’t have to. But I wanted to!
So I bought my shoes things and planned to head to my
university when suddenly… Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a gorgeous
yellow dress for only $9.99. What’s this,
I thought. Why is this piece of beauty
less than $10?! Needless to say I walked over to the Valley Girl rack and
inspected the dresses. Dang. None are my size. BUT WAIT. MORE DRESSES ON SALE.
So I went over there. Found a couple my size, looked up and discovered
something. THE WHOLE STORE WAS ON SALE. Except for the jackets and coats BUT
WHATEVER.
Everything was $9.99 or less. A dream come true. I love
Valley Girl.
I spent the next couple of hours prowling the store, trying
things on and carrying a lot of stuff. Worth it.
If you’ve stuck with me so far, thanks! Now you can look at
my not-very-good-quality photos of my haul. Sorry about that! I don’t have a
nice camera at the moment, and I don’t have the photog skills to make do with a
crappy one.
Enjoy anyway!
Simple pair of black flats for lazy days. I imagine I’ll be
prancing around with these on for many a casual day. :D
These are slippers. Horizontal stripes. I really needed
slippers! You’ve no idea.
OH, I LOVE THESE. I’ve seen so many gyaru ladies flaunting
these babies. I just had to have one. I’m completely in love with them. And
surprisingly they’re much more comfortable than they look! (But just in case I
bought foam insoles for them! Take note: You might want to buy insoles a size
smaller than your shoe size. Weird how they don’t fit right.)
I got the display shoes because the other 2 pairs that
remained had weird scratches or defects on them that I just didn’t like. I was
so happy. There were only three pairs left, and they were ALL my size.
HEHEHEHEHEHE.
I love the print on this thing!
It’s very modern, I think. I also like the button up look and its cute
see-through flower pattern around the middle. Huh? Next picture.
See? Around the midriff section it’s pretty
bare. Normally I don’t go for this kind of look because I don’t think it suits
me. But I made an exception for this one because the part it’s baring isn’t the
belly button this-is-where-all-my-fat-sits section. :D
Oh, here's a picture of me in it before the Filipino Student Association - University of Auckland event OPM NIGHT 2012!
That's outside our flat. If you can figure out where this was taken, you can be considered a creeper. CONGRATULATIONS.
Pretty, simple yellow dress. I liked how it looked on me. :D
This wasn’t the yellow dress that sparked my shopping hunt, but I love it all
the same. It's a bit lacking in length though, so I try to wear shorts underneath.
The other day I saw a girl wearing the exact same skirt, and true to Auckland weather, there was a massive breeze that went WOOOOSH. And up went the skirt. Lesson to be learned here is ALWAYS wear something underneath.
If any of my purchases remind me of the gal style, it’s this
one. Peter Pan collar, check. Cute ribbon, check. Leopard print, check! Plus
it’s a dress, long-sleeved and has a nice fit, I think. :D I couldn’t find one
that was in Large, so I had to get a Medium. Thankfully, it still looks nice!
I have yet to wear it out though. o: Maybe on my bf's birthday <3
This one’s a pretty basic looking dress which I like. It’s
easy to slip into, and there’s a simple belt that comes with it. Yay!
I think this is called a poncho. It’s a cute pattern, and
it’s a good cover-up! I think it looks better paired with low-cut garments, so
the shirt or whatever underneath isn’t poking out too prominently. I think it
would look pretty cute at the beach for cover. Maybe. Hmm. I think I’ll try
that actually!
This one’s a gift from my Mommy from the Philippines! It’s a
shout-out to my lovely boyfriend. :D
I needed more cardigans, so I thought a simple brown one would suit!
There’s a fail story about this one. I spotted it, right?
And I immediately thought of my new heels. I MUST HAVE IT, I thought to myself.
So even though it was displayed very high up on the wall, I tried to grab it. I
started shaking the shirts to get them to drop from the hook. SHAKE, SHAKE,
SHAKE. GIMME THAT SHIRT, YOU EVIL HOOK. After a while, they fell on me. Yay!
Then I turned around to look for more clothes and promptly
spotted the same shirts on a rack that was firmly planted on the floor. All
that effort… And one was right there…
Oops. This one’s blurry. It’s a long sleeved top with a cute
ruffly thing at the front. I’ve no idea what to call it. I just know I like it,
and I’ll probably wear it a lot. Hopefully.
I thought this skirt was adorable. So I bought it.
Again, I thought of gal style. Peter pan collar,
slouchy-looking, ribbon, cute print. It’s a bit sheer which I thought was
interesting given it’s cute innocent girl look. If you want a sexed up look, you could wear a lacy black bra underneath. I wore a white one underneath the other day, but it wasn't obvious. Just as well since I ended up running into my parents and hanging out with them at the Auckland Art Gallery! :)
Yup, it’s sheer. :D
I’m so bad at taking photos. Whatever. Look! It’s a cute
tunic thing. It’s from Singapore, I think. Again, from my Mommy. :D The sides
aren’t stitched up. They’re pretty open, so I think this is meant to be worn on
top of other things. Although you could probably get away with just wearing a
bra underneath if you were a sexy thang. You go, you sexy thang. Work it.
Knee-high socks! :D I like socks.
The saleslady forgot to remove the magnet thing on one of my
socks. D:< I got my boyfriend to have it removed during his break at his internship.
Again from my wonderful Mommy! I asked for more fake lashes,
so she got me some! YAY! Only PHP100 for these babies. So around… NZD$2.5?
CHEAP. I love you, Philippines!
And this is from a couple of weeks back, but I just wanted
to share it. It’s a cute lacy cream… thing. I don’t know what it’s called. Can
someone tell me? :D
So those are my purchases! And I LOVE THEM. Thanks for
having a look.
As an added bonus, look!
My boyfriend got me roses. They’ve wilted now, but they’re
still pretty! Thank you, Justin! :D It was so cute. I woke up, and there they
were on the desk. Heehee.

Do you have any awesome recent purchases? Or maybe you have
a suggestion for how I should wear my new stuff? Do share!
