21 before 21

21 by 21 goals written on paper

Hello there, my lovelies!

Welcome to 21 before 21! Here are 21 goals I aim to achieve before I turn 21 on April 4. :) Since I only have a month and a half to fulfill them, I decided to make them not too challenging (At least... I hope they're not too difficult!).

I got this idea from Allena and her 24 by/in 24! :)

There's no way you can read the list in the picture above, so let me type it out for you. Anything to help, of course!

  1. Cut out rice completely
  2. Finish reading Bhagavad Gita
  3. Make a blog header I’m happy with! See here
  4. Make a custom blogger layout
  5. Complete Zombies, Run 5k training
  6. Finish all songs on Just Dance 4 (not incl. downloadable content)
  7. Establish cleaning sched for Jus + Me
  8. 45 blog posts in 2013
  9. A painting
  10. One YouTube video
  11. Make a floral crown
  12. Design 5 free printables/downloadables :)
  13. Set up a Storenvy shop for stuff I want to sell
  14. Finish the heart collage of pics on my wall
  15. Create a media kit for Wannabe Empress
  16. Sort out the domain issue!!!
  17. Dye my hair again (finally)
  18. Organise my laptop
  19. Finish Assassin’s Creed (1)
  20. Do 8 REAL push ups (not knee push-ups)
  21. Finish two complete body weight circuits ;)
I have plans for all of them, sitting on my laptop. Just... waiting... for me to execute them. I hope I can do this.  I can do this!

Remember I Want to Level Up

I Am Ready to Level Up

I am considering this a packaged mission/quest. Yes, this whole list. If I accomplish all of them, I get 20% of a level. If I miss one, I get nada. All or nothing, baby!

Well, some of the goals are related to the main, side and/or bonus missions. So I can still get points for them. For example, the Bhagavad Gita goal is a side quest, so I get 5% if I do that. But with the Just Dance 4 mission, it's only part of a bigger goal, so I don't get points for that (yet).

So basically I get 20% for completing all the goals by April 4 plus any bonuses for the already established missions. If I don't complete all (like if I miss one, two, or ten), then I only get points for the ones that were already listed as missions on the I Want to Level Up page. :)

Make sense? :D

I'll cross things out from this list from time to time. I'll also put up a link on the main page of my blog. Here's to achieving goals!

Do you have any ___ by insert-age-here goals?

I'd love to read about them! Include a link in the comment, or just tell me what you're planning. ;) Let's cheer each other on!

I am ready to level up my life!

Did you notice this badge to the side? :) If you click on it, it will link you to my Pledge page where I swear I'm ready to level up my life!

Okay, you might be wondering what this is about. Well, you see, dear reader, I am a geek, and I am proud of it too! I am the type of person who is equally at home with a great tabletop game or with a few friends painting the town red. I can geek it up and glam it up too!

Girly geek
Truth: I want this controller

I'm a definite girly geek.

And as a girly geek, I like the idea of leveling up through experience (points) because it's like a huge reminder that I'm getting somewhere in this life. Currently I feel like I'm at level one. Maybe in truth I'm a level 5 or maybe even a level 10. Maybe. But for simplicity's sake, I'm going to pretend I'm a level one character with maybe a robe and some boots. Oh, and a wooden sword for a weapon. (Gamers, you know how the start of games go. Ya feel me.)

I'll fight monsters/challenges. I'll go through events. I'll upgrade my party members (Read: I will add new valuable friends to my life and help the friends I have to be better people). Slowly I will rack up the experience points to reach the next level. Then the next and the next... and the next, and so on!

Sometimes challenges aren't about killing rats
I don't have to be envious of other people if I think of life this way! If someone has a 'better' life than me, I just have to tell myself they're a higher level. One day I'll get to that point too. If I don't, I probably filled up on different stats. No big. (I don't really get jealous of other players in games because duh! We had different starting points. So why the jealousy in real life?! Who knows. This is the subject of another post...)

The Life Game

Life is about leveling up, one way or another!

In school, we progress from level to level, from year to year until we graduate. In a job, the levels may be salaries or title promotions. In your day-to-day life, it might be the happiness you feel with your relationships, your level of skill or maybe your fitness. We all seek to improve ourselves.

Or we don't, and we stagnate.

Well, this year and every year from now, I want to move forward. Even if it's only half a level, it beats sitting in the sewers of the first dungeon. Because as we all know from games, the coolest challenges and the best of weaponry can only be obtained after we've beaten boss after boss and progressed the story.

A lot of us are so keen on finishing video games, gaining online achievements, being the best on your server or whatever, but we ignore our own lives, our own realities and or own stories.

I'm not so keen on ignoring my own story anymore.

As William Shakespeare said...

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,

What's your story going to be?

I hope that inspired you in some way! :) Let me know what you think. This post and the idea of leveling up was inspired by Steve Kamb's post on NerdFitness.

And remember...

If you're having a difficult time, it's because...

If you're keen to pledge to level up your life, grab a badge and leave a comment! And if you want to know about my progress, check out that little button on the right. :)

How are your goals for the year going? I really want to know!
