Second shift at work : Outfit Post

Hi there! Welcome to another episode of a day in the life of me. Oh, who am I kidding. I've been unable to post any lifestyle content lately. It's all been shopping this, shopping that, outfit this, outfit that. I swear I'll start putting up more 'This is my life and I'm making it awesome posts' soon, but it's unbelievably difficult for me to get motivated and disciplined enough to do anything.

Anyway, here was my outfit for 12/12/12. It was my second ever shift at work, and I was super excited because the day before my manager gave me a lot of extra hours compared to what she first assigned me. Ecstatic, I was indeed.

P.S. I actually 'tried' to do some form of gyaru makeup that day. But it failed because I, as usual, couldn't figure out lower lashes, my bronzer sucks on my skin, no blush and no circle lenses. So basically I put on some falsies, gloss, liner and attempted but failed contouring. :( I need to buy myself some supplies...

I'm a happy Angry Bird

I'm as happy a bird as an Angry Bird can be

See the flowers on my skirt and squee

But what if I suck at work and get fired?

Won't let that be what will transpire!

Outfit details!

Bag - gift from grandma (Philippines)
Belt - oops, I forgot! (New Zealand)
Angry Birds shirt - JayJays (New Zealand)
Floral print skirt - JayJays (New Zealand)
Blue smurfalicious tights - gift from Mommy (US, I think?)
Blue asher wedges/ PRINCESS blue - Rubi Shoes by Cotton On (New Zealand)
Juliet red bracelet - Rubi Shoes by Cotton On (New Zealand)
False upper lashes - DollyWink via Ippondo @ Atrium on Elliot (New Zealand)

I'm so sorry my posts haven't been very interesting lately! I can't seem to think of any good posts, so all I end up doing are weird outfit/shopping posts. :(

What would you like to see more of?

...so I can cater my posts to what you ladies want? (Because, you know, I love you all. And I want you to keep visiting!)

Okay, that's it for now! I'll reply to comments from the older post later. I've been a busy bee lately! Wheee!

Love lots,

My Taobao order is here!

Hi everyone! I was supposed to make a post about this weeks ago. How could I forget?!

As everyone knows I am utterly obsessed with Taobao. Here are the things I've purchased. It's just going to be a heavy picture post with limited text, so enjoy my amateur photography! (Or, you know, don't enjoy it. Just sit there and shake your head and be snotty about it. That's cool too!)

Oh, look at that. My tracking number! After a huge mix-up about my address (my fault), I finally managed to get them to transfer the package to a Post Office near my apartment. :D

Thank you, Justin, for carrying this baby home. :)

We celebrated the arrival of the package with NZ Natural shakes. Mine is Macadamia-flavoured, I believe. :)

Makeup brush set! I was ecstatic. It's cutely packaged!

Here is the set once you've opened it. :) The brushes are all so wonderfully soft!

Huge scarf! It's a cute design, but it was so disgusting when it arrived. I have no idea why it smelled the way it did...

Aw, how cute! They gave us a sticker. :)

This is a dolphin earring that's supposed to sit around your ear. Gift for bf's sister!

You've probably seen this ring in my outfit posts or random photos. I love it.

Yes, that is a Mockingjay necklace!

Mockingjay pin in a rusted gold/bronze/whatever

I love this cobra earring even though it hurts to wear it on my ear :) I'm a style > comfort kind of gal

It's not as big as I was expecting it to be, but good enough for the price :D

Stackable rings that say Free, Courage, Hope and Wisdom. I normally wear them all on my pinkie finger. :D

Moustache necklace, so I have a prop when I want to say "I moustache you a question, but I'll shave it for later"

Isn't this so cute and whimsical?

I love the sayings on these bracelets. :D

Actual colour. Flash played tricks on the colouring in the last photo :)

For my lovely Irene-friend :)

It's an owl ring! Where did I put it...?

Yes, I also have a dragon clip on earring. I am so fantastic.

I like snakes, okay? This one is fabulous.

Classy earrings in case I have to pretend to be fancy for a day/night

Because I am super

Simple ribbon bracelet

There were some other things, but...

I've decided not to include them here because I took ugly photos. Overall, I was happy with my package. I may make a review about Yoybuy, the shipping service I used, one day, but I somehow doubt that. (I'm lazy, and you know it!)

If you live in Auckland and want to try buying something from Taobao, let me know! I might set up a group order in early January since my friends want more stuff. :D

Stay fabulous,

Thought I was going to a Drunkfest but Celebrated Mom’s Birthday Instead [Awkward outfit post]

Introducing a new type of blog post! After taking an extended vacation from blogging because I was too embarrassed to show everyone my weird yucky photos, I've kind of decided to rekindle my WHO GIVES A FLYING FOX attitude towards outfit posts. Welcome to my first ever Awkward Outfit.

The title Awkward Outfit refers to how I consider myself to look weird in these pictures. Whether or not you agree with me doesn't really matter much. On the other hand, on a regular outfit post, I will probably think I look good. If you disagree, that’s cool beans too!

So basically I’m trying to teach myself to love myself by posting weird pictures on my blog. Let’s see how this goes.

Also I’m trying to queue posts (KEYWORD is TRYING) because I have learned I have no will power whatsoever, and I cannot rely on myself to write posts in a timely manner.

But here are my awkward photos!

Also please note how a change of colour can take your outfit from rebel to princess.

Oh, and as a quick explanation for the title of this blog post. Each year my mom celebrates her birthday on December 3! This year it also happened to be the day my friend would be celebrating his 21st at this bar (New Zealand 21sts equate to binge drinking and lots of dancing). My plan was to eat dinner with mum and family then make a fashionably late entrance to said friend's 21st. BUT somewhere inside I realised I don't spend enough time with my family, so I wanted to spend as much time with them after as possible. So I decided not to go to the drunkfest and instead went to Wendy's with the fam. Nevertheless, the invitation to sleep over at their place was politely declined because I find it difficult to sleep there (on account of the cold.) ----- That wasn't a quick explanation, sorry!

Yeah, I'm a rebel; stay away

Look into my eyes

Baby, you're seeing double

Take a look at 'em crazy thighs

Strike a pose, you're lookin' for trouble

Blur me out and improvise

Blow a kiss, blow a bubble

But I'm a princess; make me stay

Change of colour, tone me down

Take me out for a night on the town

Shut my eyes, count to ten

Make believe I'm a comedienne

That I'm not is kind of a let down

But who knows - One day I'll be talk of the town

BONUS: Super awkward

These balloons have been around since my mate's 18th in September

And this is me with NO MAKEUP whatsoever. (I'm going to hide under a rock now.)

OKAY, enough of that.

Hey there, folks! What did you think of my second attempt at poetry? Did I tell you I used to write poems as a super emo kid back in high school? Man, I know. I was such a dork. Sorry - Did I say was? I still am! Dorky and proud.

How are you guys doing anyway? Miss talking to all of you! Sorry I'm such a bad blogger. But I'll keep trying! (Again and again and again...)

Stay super,
