Meet Berry the Pukikpuki BJD!

Hello there, beautiful!

This is my beautiful doll, Berry! He - yes, he is a he, although I do so enjoy dressing him up in dresses and bows! Berry is a precious little thing, fitting neatly into the palm of my hand. He's roughly the size of Barbie's baby sister Kelly.

Same size as my baby but not as pose-friendly!
Berry is my very first ball-jointed doll, a masterful creation, and he cost me a bit of money. I will probably spend more on him as the years go by because he will fit perfectly into a dollhouse. No regrets! I will love Berry forever! (You know what they say about firsts!) I bought him second-hand off someone I met through Facebook via New Zealand's BJD club.

Why did I get myself a BJD in spite of them being expensive and me being a broke person half the time?

Well...

  • I've wanted one since high school. Blame it on people in my circle of friends, flaunting their expensive and exquisite darlings!
  • They're hand-crafted! Each one is special and wonderful and precious - And I love them all!
  • Justin told me he was scared of dolls, and that in itself is reason to buy one - He has since gotten over BJD's, but porcelain dolls are 'usually creepy'.
  • I wanted to give one a loving home and take plenty of pictures with it! Granted, I haven't done this in a while with Berry. :(
  • Second-hand = cheaper! Buying one brand-new means no clothes, pay for shipping, pay for sanding, pay for the body and face paint and no wigs or eyes or anything. Buying second-hand meant that Berry already came with some clothes, a bed, a cute little dog, a carpet, a wig and eyes. :D

For me, these are very good reasons because Berry makes me happy. In my opinion, if something makes me happy and doesn't hurt anyone, that's in and of itself a fantastic reason! The only thing that got hurt was my bank account, but that's okay because you can always earn more money. :)

On to the pictures!

With his precious little dog named Dog (I suck at naming toys!)

Jumping for joy on his bed! (Do you like his wallpaper?! It's actually a painting)

Look into his eyes and be mesmerized!

Do you know why his name is Berry?

His previous owner named him Kuma (which is bear in Japanese)

Bear-y = Berry (plus berries are sweet! Ya know, like him!)

I bought lace doilies for him to use as pillows and blankets!

He is trying to be a little ballerino!

Barefoot because he's Kiwi (Hey! Spot that picture of Justin and I in the background!)

And the shoes are back on!

I bought him a rocking horse because he's worth it.

And bonus! His lovely little nightie!

What do you think of my precious?!

I hope you love him nearly as much as I do because he is wonderful! And oh so very photogenic! I should probably take outfit photos with him, but I meant to debut him on the blog before doing so! (And I guess I finally have, so look forward to that!)

If you want more photos of this handsome and also gorgeous boy, check out this Facebook album! It's open to the public, but I think you need to be logged in?! I am completely unsure. :/ But check it out for the cuteness! Oh, and if you're curious to see him dressed as a boy, I suppose you should check it out...

Stay wonderful,

Sometimes I think I'm a bumblebee [Outfit Post]

Hey there! Today is edition one of Let’s Laugh at the Fat Potato! Okay, okay, self-deprecation aside, this is probably not an edition of anything. But I've decided to be more open on my blog about how I dress and look, and you know what? You can laugh at me because I’m fat or ugly or whatever you want to think about me. D:< I don’t care! (Well, I do, but I’m going to pretend I don’t which is very close to not caring!)

(Besides I’m not remotely famous enough to be mocked, so I don’t have to worry about internet trolls, right?)

Anyway, this was what I was wearing the other day for a friend’s 21st birthday party! As you can see from the photos I lost my gigantic bow sometime during the night (along with my lipstick apparently! Should've retouched, aye!). It’s apparently with a friend, so I can grab it next time I see her.

Okay, okay, procrastinating time is over. Here are pictures of moi

And I think I’ll explain the post title as you go through the photos. :D

Sometimes I think I’m a bumblebee

Today I’m black and yellow

But tomorrow I will no longer be(e)

Still I'll think I’m a bumblebee

I’m round and cute, or so I think

I’ll sting you if you hurt me

Then remember it and feel bad

But soon I’ll keep on happily

Sure, sometimes I’ll be down

But I’ll buzz on because I’m a bumblebee!

How was my random poem?!

I think it was kind of weird, but I think I’ll do outfit posts like this from now on.  (Because I’m childish and weird, okay?)

This happy little bumblebee post is dedicated to my dad because he thinks I’m a big ball of depression (not that he’s going to read this!).

For more info about what I’m wearing, check out my outfit on Chictopia.

Oh, and I finally made a personal fashion post because I’m doing the Fashion Dare (See that button to the side?). I've been really lazy with posting photos of myself and/or taking photos in the first place even when I dress up! But I have a camera now, so I really have no excuse. Yes, laziness is excuse, but it's not a good one. Therefore, I will no longer use it in regards to my blog. Hihi.

What do you think of my poem? Or my outfit? Like my bow? Hate it? Hate me? (Please say no!) Leave a comment below!

Sincerely the Wannabe Empress Bumblebee,

P.S. Those cool lights things I’m standing in front of are in Aotea Square! It leads to the parking lot under Metro, I think. I pass it by every time I go home at night. :)
