The Wannabe Empress: Shoes, shoes, shoes! [Happie Nuts Focus #1]

Kia ora, everyone! I love shoes: staring at them, lusting after them, taking pictures in them and of them, prancing about at home in new shoes… etc. Shoes are awesome! And heels are especially so. They’re so magicaaaaal. (My boyfriend disagrees, but he’s a boy – therefore, irrelevant opinion!)

Anyway since I love shoes, and you probably too if you’re looking at a gyaru-inspired blog, let’s take a look at shoes. This is going to be a regular feature on Wannabe Empress – taking a look at shoes as featured by different gal blogs! If I can find some, I’ll look for shop links of replicas and similar beauties for your footsies. :]

(Note! I will probably only be hunting around on Taobao and New Zealand shops. Not familiar with Jap shops yet :[ I know! Disgrace!)

Happie Nuts 3/12 Edition

As you can see, every pair in the above picture with the exceptions of J and K (JK! Maybe because flats are a joke??) have pretty nice heels. I try not to wear heels too much, but if I want to emulate the look found in Happie Nuts I need to start flouncing about in my heels. :]

Anyway!

From here you can see that gal style makes use of both plain and print shoes as well as neutral and bold colours. Rather exciting, I think. You can wear neutral-coloured shoes with an already vibrant outfit to tone it down a bit or to match a classic look for a more everyday look. Or you can wear a bit of colour or a print to make an outfit pop. Very Blair Waldorf (Do people still make references to Gossip Girl's style queen? idk). Also very cute!

I love the 3-day featurette they have at the top! It's always good to see different ways you can wear an item. :] The design of the pink heels at the left seems to be very popular these days with gals and non-gals alike. I know I've seen a few gals sporting the black Jeffrey Campbell version (or maybe they were replicas? GIMME!)!

As for the other shoes, there's some print, mostly block colours, some ribbons/strings, leather and suede! Suede might be a bit too hot for the lot of you over in the north where it's summery, but here down under suede might be okay. Unless it rains. Careful!

Aaaaand last one!

Ahhh~ Here the colours are definitely more feminine and way less striking (in a glaring obvious LOOK-AT-ME way) but no less gorgeous. The subdued but ultra-feminine pastel colours would look good with most outfits to add a touch of colour without going overboard (like for work maybe?).

Good mix of flats and heels to be found in this section which is nice! Sometimes a gal has to take a break from pain-inducing heels. Sometimes. ;] In my case, I need to wear heels more often! Oh, if only it wasn't an uphill trek to uni...
