I met Supernatural stars! [Armageddon Expo 2012]

Kia ora, everyone! I’ve been in a spectacular mood since Sunday when I went to partake in the geeky festivities that is the ArmageddonExpo. Let me tell you all about it!

What is the Armageddon Expo though, you might ask? Are you familiar with Comic Con? It’s like New Zealand’s answer to US conventions. It’s four fun-filled and fantastic days where geekiness, pop culture, shopping, awesome costumes and people come together to make a crowded and spectacular thing. I’m making it sound really awesome. Please take my words with a grain of salt. I’m still on an emotional high.
WHY am I so happy?

Are you familiar with the show Supernatural? Yes? You are wonderful, and will be more so if you watch it. No? You are also wonderful, and please check out the show – I LOVE IT.

WAIT. Before I reveal and revel in what has made me so incandescently joyous, let’s flip through other things that happened that day.

  • A group of HORRIBLE teenage males sped past us in the rain and splashed me from thigh to toe. My poor socks. They promptly got off the car and looked at me, then kept walking. (YOU GUYS ARE JERKS.)
  • I bought two posters! One is of the singer Kerli, and one is of Murphy’s Law. One is hanging outside our bedroom door, and one is directly over our bed. Guess which is which!
  • We bought/pre-ordered a few games. Dance Central 4, Lollipop Chainsaw  and the new Halo that’s coming out. I’ve never played Halo before as I’ve never had an Xbox 360 until recently. I wanted the Halo because I wanted to go the launch party. Uh huh.
  • We bought more stuff like Mario Brothers’ hats.
  • Panels by Mark Pellegrino, Sebastian Roche, and Jim Beaver (all separate)
  • Photos with those three wondrous people
  • Autographs signed by the bubbly and gorgeous Finn Jones and the larger than life Miltos Yerolemou. Both from Game of Thrones. You should watch. AND READ. And play the games.(These two deserve to have a spotlight post of their own. If only I were a consistent blogger...)

And now here are some photos!

Rokku + Hime elements

Again with the mix

"I wonder if they can see my heart hoops...?"

"At least they can see my pretty bow! I think..."

"Oh well!"

Posing with a Dalek! POW!

Rokku + hime look?
I'd love some feedback on my look! I've changed my hair, tried something different with my outfit, and I'd love to know what you think. I need need need to improve! P.S. I know my hair was a mess! It was originally curled, then the rain straightened it. This was followed by more rain. And the mess that follows being a crazy ball of happy nerves. (Excuses are bad, but meh.)

Anyway...

And now it’s time to get to the moment I’ve been waiting for. PICTURES WITH THE CAST OF SUPERNATURAL.

IT IS JIM BEAVER. He played Bobby on the show. He was also on Deadwood which I now want to watch. During his panel at the convention, I kept thinking to myself how much he reminded me of Bobby. Minus the redneck feel though. He is fantastic and not just because I paid to have a picture taken with him.

This gorgeous hunk is Sebastian Roche. He is gorgeous. And sexy. And he oozes sexual charisma and raw uumph. He also called me a naughty girl and I will cherish that statement for the rest of my life. (It is shallow. I know. I don’t care. Look at him.) And he’s also ridiculously funny. I spent his entire panel howling with laughter (I pain the perfect picture of a fine lady!), cringing, shaking my head and hoping to all deities that those under the age of consent in the room had no idea what he was talking about.

Mark Pellegrino pretended to murder me with a mascara wand! I am still laughing about that one. He looked so confused when I requested that pose. But he did it! And he did it with gusto! Do you like my boyfriend’s attempt at saving me from the mystical mascara wand wielded by Lucifer himself? Mark was also fantastic! I officially ship Samifer now. (Samifer: Sam + Lucifer in a special sort of relationship. Winkwink.)
By the way, all of them sang for us on Sunday! I was thrilled.

And so that was an abridged version of my wonderful day! Yes, it is shallow of me to put so much of myself into meeting a few celebrities, but THEY'RE FROM SUPERNATURAL AND GAME OF THRONES. The geek in me won't quit.

Do you know any celebrities who would leave you quivering like jello? How about TV shows you practically live for? Or advice for a beginner gyaru like me?

Love lots,

  1. This looks like so much fun! I used to live in San Diego so I am familiar with Comic Con but never had a chance to go. Hmmm... I'd love to meet the cast of True Blood!

  2. Hey, Angela! It was a lot of fun! My geeky self went nuts even though I only went to the event for a day. I'm sure you could go to a different con now if you want~ Is True Blood really good? :) I love having new shows to watch.

P.S. Apparently this template doesn't support threaded comments... D:
